Bangkok: The Second Army Region organized a crucial Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting between Thailand and Cambodia to foster trust, alleviate tensions, and ensure peace along their shared border. The initiative aims to utilize all available mechanisms to address differences without resorting to confrontation.
According to Thai News Agency, the meeting took place at the Chong Sangam Permanent Border Checkpoint in Si Sa Ket Province, where the Thai delegation was led by Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of the 2nd Army Region and Co-Chairman of the Thai Regional Border Committee. On the Cambodian side, the delegation was headed by Lieutenant General Pov Heng, Commander of the 4th Military Region and Co-Chairman of the Cambodian Regional Border Committee.
The discussions centered on promoting dialogue and building confidence between the two nations. Both parties emphasized the importance of maintaining peace by adhering to the principles of friendly neighborliness, good relations, and unity. The meeting underscored the commitment of both countries to resolve differences through peaceful means and avoid any form of confrontation.
