Region 2 Army Commander Encourages Visits to Historic Castles to Boost Local Economy

Surin: Region 2 Army Commander Lt. Gen. Boonsin Phadklang has extended an invitation to the Thai public to visit three historic castles-Prasat Ta Muen Thom, Ta Muen Tod, and Ta Kwai. This initiative aims to stimulate the economy and support merchants along the Thai-Cambodian border.

According to Thai News Agency, the Commander highlighted the ongoing presence of military officers maintaining sovereignty in the border area. He noted that many citizens have previously visited the region, bringing gifts for the officers to uplift their morale.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the ancient sites, such as Prasat Ta Muen Thom in Surin Province, which features historical architecture that embodies the arts, culture, and Hindu beliefs. Prasat Ta Kwai, located in Ban Thai Niyom Phatthana, is a laterite castle situated approximately 12 kilometers east of Prasat Ta Muen Thom.

Prasat Ta Muen Tod can be found in Khao Ta Muen, part of the Phanom Dong Rak mountain range, in Ban Nong Khanna Samakkhi. It is one of the key sites within the Prasat Ta Muen Historical Park.

Lt. Gen. Boonsin urged Thai citizens to visit these historical locations and purchase local products from border district shops, promoting tourism and stimulating the local economy. "Thais travel in Thailand to support Thai products," he emphasized.
