Bangkok: The RBC meeting involving the 1st Army Region has officially begun, focusing on Cambodia's response to three critical points. The meeting is being held at the Officers' Club of the 19th Military Circle, where the Thai-Cambodian Regional Border Committee (RBC) convened at the commander level. Lieutenant General Amrit Bunsuya, Commander of the 1st Army Region, led the Thai delegation, while General Aek Som-on, Commander of the 5th Military Region, headed the Cambodian side. The meeting lasted for about an hour, with the media allowed a brief window to capture images before being asked to leave as discussions progressed to the agenda.
According to Thai News Agency, today's meeting focused on the 13+3 agreements, comprising the 13 original GBC points and Thailand's three new proposals. The first two proposals reiterate Thailand's previous positions to the GBC: a collaborative effort to clear mines and to jointly combat scammers. The third, a new proposal, addresses the issue of communities encroaching on Sa Kaeo Province and suggests a collaborative approach to allocate border areas.
