Rajamangala Task Force Reports Influx of 1,243 Foreigners Fleeing Myanmar Crackdown to Thailand


Mae sot: Rajamangala Task Force reveals that 1,243 foreigners from 28 countries have fled from KK Park to Thailand. The group of individuals, escaping the Myanmar military’s crackdown in KK Park, crossed into Thailand, highlighting the ongoing regional instability.



According to Thai News Agency, the Rajamangala Task Force, part of the Naresuan Force, detailed that these foreigners originated from a diverse array of countries, including India, China, Vietnam, and several African nations such as Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana. The group also included individuals from Taiwan, Laos, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Rwanda, and Thailand itself. The crackdown occurred in the China Special Economic Zone project area known as KK Park, located in Ban Eng Chi Miang, Myawaddy District, Karen State, Myanmar.



The task force reported that the individuals crossed the Moei River using natural channels and ferry piers, arriving on the Thai side in Mae Sot District, Tak Province. As of October 25, 2025, at 4:00 PM, a total of 1,243 people had entered Thailand, comprising 1,084 males and 159 females. The movement of such a large group underscores the significant impact of regional conflicts and economic projects on local populations.
