Bangkok: PTT Group invites people to buy fruits from orchards to reduce the problem of fruit oversupply in the market.
According to Thai News Agency, PTT Group is actively supporting the government's initiative to aid Thai farmers facing an oversupply in the market. This effort aligns with the Department of Internal Trade (DIT) under the Ministry of Commerce. The project, titled "PTT Group Invites You to Bring Smiles to Farmers," will enable farmers to sell their products directly at the PTT Head Office building from July 15-16, 2025. Key figures involved in the launch include Mr. Wuttikorn Stithit, Chief Operating Officer of the Upstream Petroleum and Natural Gas Business Group at PTT; Ms. Mina Suphawiwat, Assistant Managing Director of Corporate Reputation and Social Responsibility; Mr. Witthayakorn Maneenet, Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade; and Ms. Yanyee Srimanee, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade.
The initiative encourages direct purchases from farmers, with PTT Group acting as a partner to distribute the produce to various networks, including hospitals, schools, and elderly care centers. The "Invite You to Bring Smiles to Farmers" project aims to bolster Thai farmers by leveraging marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. This includes purchasing and donating products to PTT's extensive network, which encompasses schools, hospitals, and communities, while also providing a platform for farmers to sell seasonal products. The project is set to continue until the end of 2025.
