Bangkok: The Prime Minister is set to hold a mobile cabinet meeting in the South with the aim of transforming Songkhla Old Town from a secondary city into a thriving tourist attraction.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jirayu Huangtrakul, the government spokesman, announced on the program 'Singing from the Heart of Thai Khu Fa' that the mobile cabinet meeting in the South will commence next week. The trips are scheduled to begin on February 16, with the cabinet meeting slated for Tuesday, February 18 at 10:00 a.m. Ms. Paethongtarn, the Prime Minister, will first fly to Trang Province before continuing to Phatthalung Province on February 17. During her visit, she will address water management issues, focusing on flood and drought prevention, with specific attention to Thale Noi and Songkhla Lake.
Additionally, the Prime Minister is expected to meet with executives of Union Seafood Company in Singhanakhon District, Songkhla Province, to discuss the prospects of seafood exports. Following this, the focus will shift to promoting the old city of Songkhla Province as a desirable tourist destination. Mr. Jirayu emphasized the government's vision to elevate Songkhla from a secondary city to a 'city worth visiting,' highlighting the Prime Minister's commitment to changing perceptions and encouraging tourism in the region.
