Bangkok: The Prime Minister opened Government House to welcome the top executive of Infineon Technology, a prominent German semiconductor firm, to discuss initiatives for human resource development and sustainable investment in Thailand's semiconductor industry.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Rutger Wijburg, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Infineon Technologies AG, met with Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra to explore potential collaborations. Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, summarized that the meeting focused on integrating Thailand into the global semiconductor supply chain, with Infineon Technologies expressing admiration for the Thai government's efforts to foster a supportive investment climate.
The discussion underscored the critical role of human resource development. Both parties agreed to prioritize efficient human resource training, with the Prime Minister highlighting scholarships for youth in emerging industries. Mr. Wijburg acknowledged the capabilities of Thai professionals who have trained in Europe, affirming confidence in the future growth of Thailand's semiconductor industry.
Additionally, the meeting stressed the importance of environmentally friendly investments.
