Bangkok: The Prime Minister has firmly denied rumors circulating about a potential cabinet reshuffle, emphasizing that there will be no changes in the current cabinet lineup. These rumors, according to the Prime Minister, do not align with his intentions or plans.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra addressed the speculation regarding a possible cabinet reshuffle in a recent interview. He reiterated that there are no plans for such a move, stating unequivocally, "There will be no reshuffle." The Prime Minister expressed the importance of maintaining continuity in governmental work, highlighting that both he and the ministers have only recently assumed their positions, and it is crucial for each ministry to feel secure and stable.
In response to further inquiries about whether these rumors have caused anxiety among ministers, with concerns about potential penalties, the Prime Minister clarified that he could not confirm any penalties at this time. He emphasized that any decisions regarding penalties would require discussions focused on job performance. The continuity of work remains a priority for the Prime Minister, and he assured that he would be the sole authority to decide on any cabinet adjustments, dismissing any external speculations as baseless.
When questioned about rumors suggesting a cabinet change following a no-confidence debate, including the possibility of Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao's return, the Prime Minister acknowledged being aware of such stories but dismissed them as mere fiction that does not reflect his thoughts. He underlined that these narratives do not influence his decision-making process.
The Prime Minister also remained silent when asked about former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's remark that some ministers were "dancing," choosing not to comment on the issue.
