Nakhon Sawan: The Prime Minister monitors water management at the Black Water Gate and Bueng Boraphet, while the 3rd Irrigation Office states that it is preparing to dredge to accommodate more water, using a budget of over 2,000 million.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, inspected water management and dredging of water storage areas at the Black Gate, Nakhon Sawan Freshwater Fisheries Research and Development Center or Fisheries Station (Bung Boraphet), Nakhon Sawan Province. She listened to a briefing on water management in the area from the Director of the 3rd Irrigation Office, Water Management and Maintenance Division, Nakhon Sawan Province. The briefing covered strategies for receiving water in the northern region with large dams, as well as utilizing large flood retention basins and natural water receivers to manage water from the upper area before it flows to the inner area.
There are approximately 8 main points, such as Bung Boraphet, Nakhon Sawan Province, which is the water management of Bung Boraphet during the rainy season. It is an area designated to receive water from the upper fields in the areas of Phaisali and Tha Tako Districts and also helps slow down floodwaters that will flow to join the Nan River. However, if the water level in the Nan River is high, the Black Gate will be opened to help drain water and reduce flooding in the area.
The Prime Minister inquired about additional support needed from the government. The Director of the 3rd Regional Irrigation Office mentioned that the Royal Irrigation Department has already allocated a budget of over 2 billion baht for dredging.
The Prime Minister then interacted with the local residents and government officials, taking photos and engaging in conversation, before returning to Bangkok.
