Prime Minister Leads Royal Tribute and Candle Lighting Ceremony for Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday

Bangkok: The Prime Minister presided over the presentation of royal tributes and lighting of candles to offer blessings to Her Majesty the Queen. The event was held on the occasion of Her Majesty the Queen's birthday, June 3, 2025, and took place at the main stage, Sanam Luang.

According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony, which commenced at 19.49 hrs., was led by Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, and Mr. Pitak Suksawat, her spouse. They were joined by representatives of the President of the National Assembly, the President of the Supreme Court, the President of the Constitutional Organizations and their spouses, along with the Cabinet and their spouses, senior civil servants, military, police, civilians, private sector, and public sector participants.

Government spokesman Mr. Jirayu Huangsap revealed details of the event, noting that upon the Prime Minister's arrival, she and her spouse ascended the stage. The Prime Minister, along with representatives of the National Assembly and the Supreme Court, honored Her Majesty by saluting in front of Her portrait and placing golden and silver wreaths. This was followed by the offering of incense and candles as part of the blessings. The Prime Minister then addressed Her Majesty, expressing the loyalty and gratitude of the Thai people for her diligent royal duties, which have significantly contributed to arts and culture, public health, and quality of life improvements, especially in women's development.

The Prime Minister led the assembled crowd in offering heartfelt blessings, wishing Her Majesty happiness and continued inspiration for the nation. The ceremony concluded with the royal anthem and a collective chant of "Long Live the King" three times, led by the Prime Minister.
