Bangkok: The Prime Minister extended an invitation to Thai youth residing in the United States to return and contribute to the development of their home country. This initiative was part of an event at the Government House, where the Prime Minister welcomed the Thai youth group visiting their homeland for the 14th time, commending their talents and humility.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, met with the Thai Youth Project from the United States at the Santi Maitri Building, Government House. During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed excitement about interacting with the youth and emphasized the significance of Thai people as a form of soft power. She encouraged the youth to showcase Thai culture globally and invited them to bring back innovative ideas to help develop Thailand.
The Prime Minister highlighted the value of Thai people's warm and friendly personalities, suggesting that these traits could charm foreigners and enhance Thailand's global reputation. She praised the project, which allows the youth to explore various provinces, including the northern regions, to learn about local livelihoods and challenges such as water management.
In an interactive session, the Prime Minister engaged with the students to gauge their understanding of Thai, ensuring their connection to Thai culture remains strong. She expressed pride in their ability to balance their international education while retaining their cultural heritage.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister assured the youth of a warm welcome upon their return to Thailand and encouraged them to use their international experiences to contribute to the country's growth. Concluding the event, she took photos with the participants before attending a separate meeting concerning the collapse of the State Audit Office building.
