The meeting, known as the 3/2568 session, focused on appointments within the police force, stressing adherence to legal guidelines.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, led the Police Commission meeting, which was quieter than usual due to the absence of Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panpetch, the national police chief, who was on official business. Similarly, Pol. Gen. Korchai Klaiklueng, deputy national police chief, along with four other members of the commission, were also absent due to commitments abroad. Meanwhile, Pol. Gen. Kraibhun Thawornsong, another deputy national police chief, was on official business but managed to attend.
The Prime Minister began the meeting by highlighting the significance of appointing police officers to various roles with careful consideration and adherence to the legal framework, emphasizing that the management of the Royal Thai Police should align with government interests.
The meeting's agenda included the selection and appointment of police officers to roles such as special advisors, special experts, and experts to the Royal Thai Police. Additionally, the commission considered decisions regarding police appointments.
