Prime Minister Anutin Declares Draft Government Policy Statement 99% Complete

Bangkok: The Prime Minister announced that the draft government policy statement to Parliament is nearly complete, with only minor adjustments pending before it is finalized. The statement, which is anticipated to span over two days, awaits the Speaker of the House to set a date for its presentation. The Prime Minister also highlighted the thorough examination of the Cabinet list prior to its submission for royal approval.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the readiness of the policy statement, emphasizing that it is 99% complete. He mentioned his ongoing tour engaging with the private sector, entrepreneurs, and the Chamber of Commerce. In the following week, he plans to meet with the capital market and the Bankers' Association before assuming full responsibility. The Prime Minister assured that any necessary additions to the draft policy will be made, although the framework is already established.

In response to inquiries about setting a date for the policy statement to Parliament, Prime Minister Anutin stated that once he officially takes office and is sworn in, he will coordinate with the Speaker of the House of Representatives to schedule the statement and subsequent debate, which is expected to occur over two days.

Addressing concerns regarding the People's Party's focus on individuals with pending cases at the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), the Prime Minister explained that every aspect of the process was meticulously scrutinized before submitting names for royal endorsement. He emphasized the unprecedented level of scrutiny involved, utilizing all responsible investigative agencies. Meetings were held prior to nominating names, ensuring transparency and thorough examination. Despite these rigorous investigations, no agencies identified any problematic issues during the submission process.
