Bangkok: Pornpoj, Director-General of the Land Department, has revealed that Anutin Charnvirakul is not worried about owning the golf course land, emphasizing that inquiries regarding self-construction settlement overlapping the area should be directed to the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, not the Land Department. He clarified that the department acts as a terminal agency with specific regulations and procedures, noting that villagers with evidence of possession before the official announcement cannot be prohibited from receiving title deeds. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pornpoj Penpas, Director-General of the Land Department, stated that after Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, addressed the media regarding discussions with the Land Department about the golf course land in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, it was clarified that the land was legally acquired. The land, originally not purchased firsthand, was bought from a villager, which is standard practice. Mr. Pornpoj assured that Mr. Anutin showed no concerns about the matter, as it was merely a discussion to confirm Mr. Anutin's understanding of the situation. In addition, the Director-General of the Land Department noted that the land comprises over 1,000 plots allocated by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) for self-sufficient settlements since 1972. According to standard procedures, after five years of usage, the land can transition to N.K.3 land, which can be converted to a title deed following normal regulations. Once the villagers possess the title deed, they are restricted from selling for five years, after which transactions are permissible. When questioned about potential overlaps with Sor Por Kor land, Mr. Phonpoj explained that title deeds were issued by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and any inquiries should be directed there, as the Land Department is not involved. The issuance of title deeds stems from evidence of s elf-reliant settlements under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security or the former Department of Public Welfare. Any potential duplication issues must be addressed by the Sor Por Kor with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, not the Land Department. Regarding the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives' working group inviting the Land Department to inspect the area, Mr. Phonpoj expressed that such a visit would be unproductive. He emphasized that the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security should be queried about the establishment of the industrial estate in the area, given that the Land Department operates under clear regulations and legal frameworks. Furthermore, the Director-General clarified that for Sor Por Kor land, regardless of the declared area, if villagers occupy it with evidence, such as Sor Kor 1 or a Sor Por Kor reservation form, title deeds cannot be denied if the occupation predated the Royal Decree attached to the Agricultural Reform Map. However, if a substantial number of villagers request surveys and title deeds in the Sor Por Kor area, it remains unfeasible. Currently, approximately 122 districts face ongoing resolution efforts.
