Bangkok: Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Chinese man in connection with the mysterious death of a female escort in a hotel. The man, identified as Mr. Duoying Wu (Duying Wu) or Mr. Jessada, was found to have entered Thailand legally and remains in Bangkok, according to authorities. Initial findings suggest he is not ready to engage in the legal process.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol Maj Gen Thanantorn Rattanasitthiphak, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 4, provided updates on the case involving Ms. Airada, who died under unusual circumstances on February 10 after meeting a Chinese client. The deceased was discovered naked with drugs in the room.
Pol Maj Gen Thanantorn reported that CCTV footage revealed a Chinese man arriving at the hotel on February 9 at 23.16, followed by the deceased at 02.49. The man was seen leaving the hotel at 06.17 on February 10, before the Chokchai Police Station was alerted to the woman's body discovery at 07.10.
Investigations identified the suspect as Mr. Duoying Wu, a 37-year-old Chinese national who entered Thailand on February 1 with a visa valid until July. He was placed on the Immigration Bureau's watch list, preventing him from leaving the country. An arrest warrant was issued for 'acting recklessly causing the death of another person.'
Pol Maj Gen Thanantorn mentioned that the modeling agency involved in arranging the deceased's work would be questioned. If found guilty, they could face 'recruiting' charges. Police are examining chat messages about 'allowing the deceased to take drugs' to determine any criminal offense. Drugs found at the scene, including 'Happy Water' and ketamine, are being tested for confirmation.
The investigation showed that Mr. Duoying Wu frequently called entertainers to the hotel for services and maintained a long-term stay membership with the hotel, which denied involvement in recruiting entertainers.
CCTV footage did not show any modeling agency presence at the hotel on the night of the incident. The deceased had reportedly never accepted this type of work before. The deceased's family was contacted by an investigator regarding a middleman's offer to contribute 100,000 baht to the funeral, without clarifying the intent. Pol Maj Gen Thanantorn stated that a fact-finding committee would investigate any potential disciplinary or criminal wrongdoing.
Pol Maj Gen Thanantorn addressed public concerns about the delay in legal action, explaining that police followed legal procedures, waiting for forensic results and clear evidence before issuing the arrest warrant.
Police have confirmed that Mr. Duoying Wu remains in Bangkok and is not prepared to face legal proceedings. The investigation team is confident they will apprehend him soon.
At 2:45 p.m., a news team contacted the modeling agency Arin for clarification. The agency representative responded, "It's not convenient to talk," and ended the call. The deceased's family reported being unable to reach the agency.
