Bangkok: The Prime Minister has announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has convened a meeting with foreign ambassadors, reinforcing Thailand's commitment to bilateral frameworks in its dealings with Cambodia. The move aims to clarify Thailand's stance that any actions beyond negotiations could affect international relations, affirming the country's dignity and sovereignty.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra stated that the meeting was called to inform foreign ambassadors in Thailand of the country's position. She emphasized that if international rules are not respected, global acceptance cannot be expected. The Prime Minister acknowledged that Thailand's public communication on the matter has been limited due to its emphasis on bilateral talks. Both Thailand and Cambodia are expected to adhere strictly to the framework of bilateral negotiations, with any deviation seen as potentially detrimental to their relationship.
Furthermore, discussions continue between the government and military officials regarding Thailand's diplomatic stance. The focus is on determining permissible actions to safeguard national sovereignty, with assurances that no problems are anticipated in maintaining this stance.
