Phumtham Engages with Cambodian Defense Minister to Enhance Cooperation


Phnom Penh: Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, along with General Nattapol Nakphanit, Deputy Minister of Defense, General Thongchai Rodyoi, Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Army, and their delegation, participated in discussions with General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Cambodia, General Eth Sarath, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mao Sophan, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Army, and their delegation.



According to Thai News Agency, the discussions focused on exchanging views and exploring solutions to conflicts between the two nations. Both parties agreed to utilize existing cooperation mechanisms to achieve a concrete resolution and adjust the military presence in the area by 2024.



The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense emphasized the significance of using bilateral mechanisms as the primary tool for driving cooperation and joint problem-solving, aiming to strengthen sustainable good relations between the two countries.
