Phumtham Awards Shields for Excellence in Drug Prevention and Suppression

Bangkok: "Phumtham" presented shields to "agencies and individuals" for outstanding work in drug prevention and suppression, 210 cases, emphasizing the government's importance as a national agenda, asking everyone to help protect, hoping for Thailand's happiness. "Lt. Gen. Boonsin" received the shield amidst thunderous applause.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, presided over the ceremony to present plaques of honor to individuals and organizations with outstanding and outstanding performance in preventing and solving drug problems in 2025. The plaques were divided into 5 individuals and organizations with outstanding or outstanding performance, 11 recipients of plaques of honor for outstanding performance in preventing and solving drug problems, and 152 recipients of plaques of honor in 6 different areas, including provincial governors, deputy governors of Bangkok, police, military, agencies, and organizations involved in drug suppression.

In addition, the committee considered the award of honorary plaques to 14 people who worked to prevent and solve drug problems (in the case of death) and honorary plaques to 33 people who worked to prevent and solve drug problems (in the case of injuries). This year, there were 210 individuals and organizations who received certificates of honor and honorary plaques.

However, this year, Lt. Gen. Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of the 2nd Army, received a plaque of honor for outstanding performance in the field of international cooperation. Gen. Boonsin is the driver of the 'Seal Stop Safe' drug interception and suppression plan in accordance with the government's policy, covering 7 provinces and 25 districts on the northeastern border, and international cooperation to intercept drug smuggling in border areas by establishing an integrated mechanism with security agencies and civilians effectively, and the results of operations according to the indicators of drug interception in border provinces that were imported through border districts, compared to the results of drug seizures that were imported through target border districts, accounting for 83.64 percent (target 90 percent).

All of these are considered achievements that reflect the determination and leadership in solving the drug problem in a tangible way, especially in terms of international cooperation. He has collaborated with the coordination team in the Lao-Thai border area to jointly seize more than 20 sacks of drugs (methamphetamine) or approximately 8 million pills. He has also met with the Deputy Chief of the General Staff Department of the Royal Thai Armed Forces at the Ministry of National Defense in Vientiane Capital to coordinate to jointly solve the problem along the border to create peace and order for both sides. He has also met and coordinated with the coordination teams in each province and sub-district by designating coordination points in each area to exchange information on interception and arrest, and held a press conference to speed up coordination.
