Pheu Thai’s Role in Interior Ministry Hinges on Prime Minister’s Decision

Bangkok: "Phumtham" points out that whether the Interior Ministry stays with Pheu Thai or not depends on the Prime Minister. Phumtham reveals that the Prime Minister has not yet sent a signal to adjust the Cabinet, indicating that whether the Interior Ministry will stay with Pheu Thai or not depends on the Prime Minister's decision, confirming that the ministers are not shaken, working to their full potential - civil servants are not in neutral.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, as a leader of the Pheu Thai Party, addressed the situation involving Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister and leader of the Pheu Thai Party. He commented on whether she had communicated any intentions regarding a cabinet reshuffle to the ministers and members of the Pheu Thai Party, noting that no such signals had been given yet. He mentioned that the only information available was from media reports and reassured that all members were performing their duties diligently, leaving the final decision to the Prime Minister.

When questioned about the necessity of the Interior Ministry joining the Pheu Thai Party, Mr. Phumtham stated that they were awaiting the Prime Minister's judgment on the matter.

Addressing concerns about the potential impact of reshuffle news on the morale of ministers and the neutrality of civil servants, Mr. Phumtham expressed confidence that there was no disruption among the ministers. He recently interacted with them at an alms-giving ceremony on the occasion of Her Majesty the Queen's birthday, where no discussions of a reshuffle were apparent. He emphasized trust in the integrity of civil servants, who are committed to resolving national issues, assuring that there was no cause for concern.
