Pheu Thai Party Unfazed by Charges Against Bhumtham Over Parliament Dissolution Request

Bangkok: Pheu Thai Party is not concerned about Bhumtham being charged under Section 112 for his request to dissolve Parliament. They revealed they have prepared a legal team to review the matter and are confident he has not committed any wrongdoing.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Wisut Chainarun, President of the Pheu Thai Party, addressed the case of Mr. Suratin Picharn, a party-list MP for the New Democrat Party, filing a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Division against Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, acting on behalf of the Prime Minister, for violating Section 112, which included his lack of authority to submit a royal request for a dissolution of Parliament. He stated that the acting Prime Minister is fully responsible for the administration of the country. He previously served as acting Prime Minister while Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra was still in the process of dissolving Parliament. However, Mr. Phumtham currently has full authority, allowing him to petition for a petition. This is not unusual, despite the fact that many academics agree and disagree. We have listened to Mr. Phumtham, including him, and have come to a conclusion. We are confident that the petition can be submitted correctly. He stated that there is no concern for those who file a complaint, as it is their business. He emphasized that in this country, there are many petitioners, and that differing opinions are normal and nothing to be concerned about.

When asked what evidence the legal team has prepared to fight, Mr. Wisut said, "We have a team of legal experts already in preparation. We are confident we have done nothing wrong." He emphasized that dissolving Parliament is a matter of royal authority. He said he would accept it and wait to hear what was said. He said he would not say anything more than that, as it would be inappropriate.
