Pheu Thai MP Expresses Support for Prime Minister Amid Legal Proceedings

Bangkok: Pheu Thai MP Worasit Kalptinan extended his well-wishes to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, hoping for her safety and a positive outcome in her legal case on August 29th. He emphasized the importance of leadership in addressing the country's challenges.

According to Thai News Agency, during a House of Representatives meeting chaired by House Speaker Wan Muhammad Noor Matha, Mr. Worasit, representing Ubon Ratchathani Province from the Pheu Thai Party, raised several issues. He highlighted the urgency of the highway bridge construction over the Mun River by the Ministry of Transport, noting the narrow two-lane road on rural highway 4005 lacking streetlights and the need for road expansion. He also pointed out the Provincial Electricity Authority's concerns about inadequate electricity supply for agriculture in two subdistricts. Additionally, he reported on recent conflicts in Nam Yuen District, where more than 80 houses were destroyed, and provincial assistance has been provided, as approved by the Cabinet.

Mr. Worasit expressed gratitude to Interior Minister Bhumtham and Interior Minister Teerarat Samretwanich for approving a 5,000 baht per household budget to assist affected residents. He stressed the critical state of the nation and the necessity of strong leadership, wishing for Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra's safety and hoping she can continue to serve as a beloved leader of the people.
