PEA Establishes Earthquake Support Center in Response to Myanmar Quake

Bangkok: The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has announced the establishment of a Support Operation Center for Unusual Events (SOA) in response to the recent earthquake originating from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, which has had an impact on Thailand. This initiative aligns with the directive from Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who has instructed all relevant agencies to provide urgent assistance to those affected by the earthquake.

According to Thai News Agency, the PEA's SOA is tasked with investigating, resolving, and restoring the impacts of abnormal events. The authority has emphasized the importance of a systematic approach to integrating resources for emergency management, impact reduction, and sustainable restoration efforts. Personnel, electrical vehicles, mobile generators, and lighting lamps have been prepared to assist government agencies and private sectors upon request.

The PEA has also collaborated with government agencies to survey the affected areas across its 74 provinces nationwide. The organization is actively monitoring the earthquake situation and inspecting the power grid's stability to ensure a consistent power supply in the service area. Preparations are underway for additional assistance in the event of further emergencies.

Electricity users can contact the PEA office during normal business hours nationwide or reach out to the 1129 PEA CONTACT CENTER, which operates 24/7. The PEA extends its condolences to the families of the deceased and expresses sympathy for those affected, offering encouragement for a swift recovery from this crisis.
