Pattaya Woman Accuses Rider of Blackmail and Assault Through Dating Apps

Pattaya: A warning has been issued to women using dating apps to be cautious of a man named Boom, who has been accused of recording blackmail videos and physically abusing women he has relationships with. Several women have come forward to file complaints against him.

According to Thai News Agency, the Facebook page 'Pattaya' alerted women about Boom's dangerous behavior, including threats of acid attacks. The post prompted numerous comments, with people expressing familiarity with Boom, sharing their own experiences of being scammed or threatened by him.

The warning was posted by a victim who had experienced Boom's abusive behavior. This encouraged others to speak out, revealing a pattern of similar experiences. The post garnered over 1,000 comments from concerned individuals.

On July 12, a group of victims assembled in front of a car rental shop in Pattaya Central to confront Boom. The group, consisting of more than ten individuals, aimed to capture Boom, who allegedly recorded blackmail videos and assaulted a young woman. They took him to the Pattaya City Police Station.

Ms. On, a 30-year-old victim, recounted her relationship with Boom, stating she met him through a dating app and Facebook. She alleged that Boom assaulted her and threatened to release a private clip if she did not comply with his demands.

Four additional women filed complaints against Boom, including Ms. Ji, aged 32, who reported incidents of spray painting on her motorcycle, threats to release a clip, and physical assault.

Boom acknowledged knowing many women through dating apps but denied any wrongdoing, claiming the relationships were consensual and denying involvement in property damage.

Pattaya police are currently questioning all victims and reviewing their accounts. Further investigations will determine if charges will be filed against Boom, leading to potential legal prosecution.
