Bangkok: "Pai Link" has made a public appeal to the Kla Tham Party for a chance to highlight its capabilities in the role of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pai Lik, who serves as a Member of Parliament for Kamphaeng Phet and the Secretary-General of the Kla Tham Party (KTL), took to his Facebook page, "Pai Lik," to express his desire for the party to demonstrate its performance in the vacancy of the Deputy Speaker position. His post underscored the opportunity for the Kla Tham Party to take on this leadership role.
The vacancy in question arose following a ruling by the Constitutional Court on August 1, 2015. The court determined that Mr. Pichet Chuamuangphan, the former First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, was to be removed from his position as a Member of Parliament for Chiang Rai. This decision also included a 10-year ban on his eligibility to run for election, citing behavior that contravened Section 144, paragraph two, of the Constitution. As a result, the post of First Deputy Speaker remains unfilled, with "Pai Link" advocating for the Kla Tham Party to step into the role.
