Pai Lik Confident of Securing 70 Seats in Upcoming Election

Bangkok: "Pai" Lik, MP for Kamphaeng Phet and Secretary-General of the Kla Tham Party, expressed confidence in securing 70 seats in the next election, dismissing criticism from urban-centric politicians.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pai addressed comments made by Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao, MP for Phayao and Advisor to the Kla Tham Party, who had previously stated that the party was poised to win 70 seats. Mr. Pai echoed this sentiment, expressing his belief in the quality of candidates that the party has lined up and his commitment to campaign efforts. He emphasized that the real test would be on election day and remained optimistic about the outcome. Furthermore, he acknowledged the possibility of the Kla Tham Party playing a pivotal role in government formation.

In response to inquiries about potential alliances with other political factions, Mr. Pai referred to remarks by Mr. Panus Wacharasindhu, a party-list MP from the Prachachon Party, who noted the lack of electoral success for the Kla Tham Party despite an increase in MPs joining the group. Mr. Pai clarified that the party operates more as a political group with candidates campaigning individually. He suggested that Mr. Panus, being based in Bangkok, might not fully grasp the dynamics of rural political engagement, inviting him to visit Kamphaeng Phet for a firsthand experience.

Addressing concerns that his statements might create political adversaries, Mr. Pai asserted that he was merely stating facts and saw no issue in his candidness.
