Ubon ratchathani: "Paethongtarn" revealed that she was assigned by the Cabinet to be a representative to join the "Deputy Minister of Defense" group to visit and encourage 3 rangers in the incident of stepping on a landmine in Chong Bok, praising them as examples of bravery and sacrifice, confirming that the "government - army" is responsible for taking care of the personnel and the people, and is ready to protect Thai sovereignty.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, along with General Nattapol Nakphanit, Deputy Minister of Defense, visited and gave moral support to rangers who were injured from stepping on a landmine in the Chong Bok area, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, at Saraphisitprasong Camp Hospital.
Ms. Paethongtarn asked about the condition of Private First Class Thanapat Huiwan, a soldier from the 6021st Infantry Regiment, and said that the government would not let any incidents that would affect the morale of the officers on duty any further. Whatever could be done would be done, and she offered her support to the mother of the injured soldier, who said that the incident had shocked the family because the soldier had just been on duty in the area.
Then, Ms. Paethongtarn and General Nattapol visited and gave moral support to the other two soldiers who were injured and listened to their symptoms, saying that they had received pressure from the blast, causing pain in the muscles in their chest, neck, and throat, and had wounds.
Meanwhile, Ms. Paethongtarn gave a flower basket to encourage the three soldiers, saying that she was proud to have sacrificed to work for the country.
Ms. Paethongtarn revealed after visiting the three soldiers that all three were in good spirits and were still concerned about the soldiers in the area who were on duty together. She asked if they wanted anything else and the answer was that they wanted water because the area was quite hot. However, the army was already taking good care of them, but if they requested anything more, they would take care of them.
While the families of the three injured people are in good spirits and are proud of the three who sacrificed themselves to serve the country, hearing this makes us feel sorry because on the day they were suffering, there were still people beside them to encourage them, which is a strong encouragement because in addition to the body that needs to be healed, the mind also needs to be well taken care of.
In addition, Ms. Paethongtarn also posted a message on social media stating that 'Today, I was assigned by the Cabinet to be a representative to join the group with the Deputy Minister of Defense to travel to Saraphisitprasong Camp Hospital, Ubon Ratchathani Province to visit and encourage the 3 soldiers who were injured from the landmine incident in the Chong Bok area, Nam Yuen District, and to provide necessities to the personnel in the area.
We would like to send our heartfelt encouragement to Private First Class Thanapat Huiwan, Sergeant Major Patipat Srilasak, and Private First Class Nattawut Srikhem, who performed their duty with bravery and sacrifice, which is something that we Thais should honor as examples. All of them received great encouragement from their families and felt proud to be a part of serving the nation.
I would like to express my respect for the sacrifice of all military personnel who are currently performing their duties for the country. I also know that the Ministry of Defense is urgently investigating the facts and disposing of bombs in the area. Importantly, there will be measures to provide full compensation to those affected by this incident.
In the past, the government and the military have carried out everything with full responsibility in taking care of the safety of the personnel and the people and maintaining the sovereignty of the country so that the border areas can return to peace and safety as soon as possible. I would like to send encouragement to all personnel.
