Bangkok: Paethongtarn Shinawatra canceled her attendance at a Pheu Thai Party meeting, leaving MPs and the public in anticipation. She is preparing a birthday cake for an advance celebration on August 21. Thaksin Shinawatra, who attended the party, noted his presence was to meet guests, avoiding questions on the 112 case.

According to Thai News Agency, reporters from the Pheu Thai Party indicated that during the party's weekly meeting, it was expected that Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, who serves as Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, as well as the leader of the Pheu Thai Party, would be present. In preparation, MPs brought bouquets and cakes to offer early birthday wishes for Ms. Paethongtarn, whose birthday falls on August 21. However, Ms. Paethongtarn did not attend the meeting as planned.

Additionally, a significant number of party supporters gathered with the intention of meeting her. They arrived with flowers and gifts to show their support and to offer early birthday greetings.

Former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra also made an appearance at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters, departing at 4:10 PM without engaging with the press. When questioned by reporters about his activities at the party, Thaksin mentioned he was there to meet guests, friends, and supporters. When further queried about his potential attendance at the Criminal Court hearing on August 22 regarding the 112 case, Thaksin responded briefly, dismissing the topic, and promptly exited the premises.
