Outstanding Teacher Arrested for Coercing Students Into Indecent Acts and Recording Videos

Prachuap Khiri Khan: Cyber police have detained an acclaimed teacher accused of coercing students into committing indecent acts in a classroom setting and capturing the acts on video. Authorities have identified eight victims and uncovered tens of thousands of files related to the case.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trirong Phiwpaen, Commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD), alongside Pol. Maj. Gen. Tingkorn Rangmat, Deputy Commander of the TCSD, Pol. Maj. Gen. Sila Kanchanak, and Ms. Sudathip Duangthip from Destiny Rescue International, announced the arrest at a press conference. The arrest followed a notification from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States, which reported the discovery of abusive images of a boy uploaded to a well-known cloud platform. The investigation, led by the Anti-Child Sexual Abuse on the Internet group, TICAC, traced the IP address back to Thailand.

The investigation pinpointed the perpetrator as a civil servant and educator at a school in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. A search warrant was obtained from the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Court after collecting substantial evidence. The accused admitted to charges of 'possession of child pornography for sexual benefit for himself or others'. Authorities are considering additional charges, including rape and indecency, particularly given the power dynamics involved, as the accused was in a position of authority over the victims.

The police are continuing to gather evidence and interview relevant individuals to pursue further charges and investigate additional potential victims. Measures are being taken to protect the identified child victims. Law enforcement is collaborating with the Prachuap Khiri Khan Children's Shelter to engage with the victims' families, ensuring they receive protection, compensation, and support through the justice process.
