Bangkok: Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office and overseer of the Office of Knowledge Management and Development (Public Organization) or OKMD, has announced plans to revamp TK Park, transforming it into a comprehensive knowledge center. The initiative aims to cater to the learning needs of all age groups, positioning TK Park as a Library of Things.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Jiraporn disclosed that the revamp aligns with the 20th anniversary of OKMD, a policy originating from the Thai Rak Thai era. The government plans to inaugurate a new National Learning Center on Ratchadamnoen Avenue. This center is envisioned as a model for a modern and inclusive public learning facility in Thailand, fostering a wisdom-based society and driving the creative economy.
A significant element of this project is the relocation of TK Park from CentralWorld’s 8th floor to the new National Learning Center. TK Park will be upgraded to offer lending services for innovative learning tools, including musical instruments, board games, and AR/VR equipment. The transformation is expected to be completed by 2028.
“The new TK Park will align with digital-age learning behaviors, featuring Virtual Reality Labs, a Cooking Studio, a Fabrication Lab, a Media Center, and interactive learning spaces, establishing it as the country’s most progressive learning resource,” Ms. Jiraporn added.
