Off-Road Pickup Overturns on Pha Tad Slope in Phetchabun

Phetchabun: An off-road pickup truck skidded and overturned while descending the slope of Pha Tad in Khek Noi Subdistrict, Khao Kho District. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

According to Thai News Agency, the accident occurred as the vehicle was making its way downhill on May 25th. The truck lost control midway, colliding with the mountainside before flipping over, ending up with its wheels pointing skyward. A rescuer attempting to assist also experienced skidding.

Pha Tad is a popular spot for off-road enthusiasts and dirt bikers, despite its reputation for being hazardous. Three years ago, a similar incident at this location resulted in a fatality when an off-road vehicle overturned.

In a separate incident, heavy rainfall in Chai Nat Province led to the embankment of the Khao Laem Reservoir breaking, causing significant flooding in agricultural areas. The reservoir, situated in Rai Phatthana Subdistrict, Manorom District, overflowed due to a breach over 15 meters wide, releasing over 70,000 cubic meters of water. This overflow affected more than 70 rai of farmland and damaged the surface of Nong Tat Ton Road, which runs adjacent to the reservoir.
