Northern Thailand Experiences Less Rain and Rising Temperatures as Southern Areas Brace for Heavy Rain

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has reported significant weather changes across Thailand, with northern regions experiencing decreased rainfall and rising temperatures, while some southern areas are expected to see heavy rain and thunderstorms. Residents have been advised to take precautionary measures for their health due to these changing conditions.

According to Thai News Agency, the weather forecast for the next 24 hours indicates that the high-pressure area or moderate cold air mass covering the Northeast and the South China Sea is weakening. This has resulted in weakened easterly and southeasterly winds that typically bring moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand to the upper part of the country. Consequently, northern Thailand will see a reduction in rainfall and an increase in temperature.

In the southern regions, moderate easterly and southeasterly winds are expected to cause thunderstorms and heavy rain in certain areas. The waves in the lower Gulf of Thailand are predicted to be moderate, with heights ranging from 1-2 meters, while the upper Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are expected to have waves approximately 1 meter high. In areas experiencing thunderstorms, wave heights could exceed 2 meters, prompting sailors to exercise caution and avoid navigating through stormy areas.
