Northeastern Region to Experience Cool to Cold Weather, Bangkok to Have Cool Mornings

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has announced that the northeastern region of Thailand will experience cool to cold weather, while the northern, central, eastern regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, will have cool weather in the morning. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions for their health due to the colder weather conditions.

According to Thai News Agency, the weather forecast for the next 24 hours indicates that a high-pressure area or moderate to strong cold air mass will cover the upper part of Thailand and the South China Sea. This will lead to cool to cold temperatures in the northeastern region, while the northern, central, eastern regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, will experience cool morning weather. On mountaintops, conditions will be cold to very cold, prompting residents to be cautious of health impacts and fire hazards due to the dry and windy weather.

The northeast monsoon is affecting the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea, resulting in strong waves. In the lower Gulf of Thailand, waves will reach 2-3 meters, while the upper Gulf of Thailand will see waves of approximately 2 meters. The Andaman Sea will have waves around 1 meter high, increasing farther from shore. Mariners in these regions are advised to exercise caution, particularly in areas with thunderstorms, and small boats in the lower Gulf should avoid venturing out until February 10, 2025.

Dust and smog accumulation in the upper part of Thailand remains at a good to moderate level due to stronger winds. In Bangkok and its vicinity, the minimum temperature is expected to be 20-22 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 32-34 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
