Bangkok: Nirat Phongsitthaworn has officially taken up the role of Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, marking the occasion with a ceremonial homage to sacred objects at the Ministry of Interior. This transition follows his previous role as the Governor of Chiang Mai Province.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nirat, accompanied by his wife, chose the auspicious time of 09:14 to pay respects at several significant sites within the Ministry of Interior. These included the Phra Chai Mongkol Shrine, the Phra Phum Chao Thi Shrine, and the monument of His Royal Highness Prince Damrong Rajanubhab, the first Minister of the Ministry of Interior. This act was performed to seek good fortune as he steps into his new position.

In his first address as Director-General, Mr. Nirat outlined a comprehensive work policy for civil servants within the Department of Provincial Administration. This policy, titled "One Administrative Team, Six Knowledgeable Persons, Eight Policies to DOPANEXT," calls for unity and collaboration among the department's central and regional offices.

He expressed a deep personal connection to his new role, likening it to a return to his hometown, where he began his career as a district officer. Mr. Nirat underscored his commitment to upholding traditions and emphasized the department's pivotal role within the Ministry of Interior.
