Narumon Confirms Kla Tham Party’s 36 Votes for 2016 Budget Support

Bangkok: "Narumon" has assured that the Kla Tham Party has secured 36 votes to support the 2016 budget. Mrs. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives and leader of the Kla Tham Party, confirmed this development and expressed confidence that the Supreme Court's decision in the high-profile Police General Hospital case, scheduled for June 13, will not impact the political landscape.

According to Thai News Agency, Mrs. Narumon discussed the potential appointment of Lieutenant Commander Anudit Nakornthap as the party's strategy chairman. A decision is expected following a party executive committee meeting. She hinted at possible new member introductions, emphasizing that readiness is key before any announcements are made.

Mrs. Narumon addressed the upcoming vote on the fiscal year 2026 budget bill, highlighting the party's current 36 votes comprised of an original 25, plus an additional 11. She indicated that these members are aligned with government support, and hinted at the possibility of more members voting in favor. However, she refrained from confirming any specific numbers.

Regarding the Supreme Court's hearing on June 13 about former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's treatment at the Police General Hospital, Mrs. Narumon believes it will not alter the political environment. She emphasized that the situation would proceed according to the judicial system and expressed confidence that it would not pose problems for the party.

As a coalition partner, Mrs. Narumon stated that the case is distinct from governmental issues and should not affect the government's operations. She reiterated her belief in the separation of party and legal matters.
