Names of Soldiers Injured by Landmine Near Prasat Ta Kwai Revealed

Surin: The names of three soldiers who were injured after stepping on a landmine at Hill 350 near Prasat Ta Kwai while on patrol have been revealed. On August 27, 2015, a unit of soldiers from the 22nd Infantry Regiment was patrolling between operational bases in front of bunkers 11-12 on the west side of Prasat Ta Kwai, Surin Province, when they encountered a PMN-2 improvised explosive device.

According to Thai News Agency, the explosion resulted in injuries to three soldiers. Private Adison Pomklang, assigned to the 3rd Field Company, 221st Infantry Regiment, sustained an injury to his right ankle. He is currently being airlifted from Phanom Dong Rak Hospital to Surin Hospital with the Sky Doctor team for further treatment.

Sergeant Major Natthaphong Sichin, also from the 3rd Field Company, 221st Infantry Regiment, was hit in the back by shrapnel, sustaining minor injuries. He was treated at Phanom Dong Rak Hospital. Private Thannathorn Thaokratok, from the same company and regiment, injured his left wrist and also sustained minor injuries, for which he received treatment at Phanom Dong Rak Hospital.

Relevant units have transported the injured soldiers to medical facilities for treatment, and there is an ongoing investigation at the incident site to ensure safety.
