NACC Chairman Urges Pirapan to Address Charges Within 15 Days

Bangkok: The NACC Chairman has announced that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Mr. Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, must respond to charges within 15 days.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suchart Trakulkasemsuk, Chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), stated that a letter was sent to Mr. Pirapan to acknowledge the charges related to the relief bag distribution case. Mr. Pirapan, who was unable to attend in person due to a meeting, requested to receive the charges via post. The NACC had granted this request, aligning with their regulations, and sent the notification by mail.

Mr. Suchart clarified that the NACC had initially scheduled Mr. Pirapan to appear on the morning of July 16. However, anticipating his absence, the commission proceeded to mail the charges. The letter requires Mr. Pirapan to respond within the stipulated timeframe of 15 days from receipt, allowing him to prepare his defense or clarification regarding the accusations.
