Buriram: Villagers in Buriram Province are expressing concern after spotting mysterious drones flying over several districts. The presence of these drones has prompted officials to launch an investigation, with fears circulating that they could be Cambodian spy drones.
According to Thai News Agency, residents in the districts of Chaloem Phra Kiat, Lahan Sai, Prakhon Chai, and Ban Kruat have reported multiple sightings of these drones. Authorities are currently working to determine the origins of the drones, with plans to question any Thai operators and potentially pursue legal action if necessary. The governor of Buriram has enforced a strict prohibition on drone usage, warning of legal consequences for violators. In the event that the drones are confirmed to be of Cambodian origin, urgent measures will be taken to safeguard national security.
In related developments, despite ceasefire negotiations, the situation along the Thai border remains tense. No clashes have been reported, but 85 schools in the border districts of Ban Kruat and Lahan Sai continue to be closed indefinitely. The province has yet to announce when residents might safely return to their homes, as the area still requires clearance due to the presence of over 240 artillery shells.
