Bangkok: The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) is responding to the "MSD Near You" policy by implementing 6 Quick Win projects to help reduce burdens and improve people's quality of life.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Prasong Phanlima, Director of the Government Savings Bank (GSB), revealed that the Government Savings Bank, as an agency under MSDHS, is supporting the "MSDHS Near You" policy of Mr. Akara Prompao, Minister of Social Development and Human Security. This policy emphasizes providing equal access to opportunities for improving the quality of life for all groups of people under the concept of "Reduce expenses, create income, restart life."
The Government Savings Bank has rolled out six Quick Win projects to support the policy. The first initiative is an interest rate reduction project, offering a maximum loan of 5,000 baht with one month of interest-free terms from October to November 2025. This project aims to assist 11,500 vulnerable groups and low-income earners during the economic downturn.
The second project focuses on easing parents' burdens by providing 1,000 sets of school uniforms and shoes. The third project offers scholarships to 158 financially disadvantaged but academically strong students, totaling 775,500 baht.
Additionally, the fourth project involves the production of 1,000 relief bags, which are distributed by MSDHS to those affected by social and economic challenges. The fifth initiative is a 1 billion baht loan project designed to enhance liquidity for pawn services, ensuring timely cash disbursements during periods of high demand.
The sixth project targets students and ethnic villagers in Phayao Province, aiming to alleviate their hardships and improve access to education and social opportunities. Mr. Prasong Phanlima emphasized that the "Close to You" policy not only enhances accessibility to government services but also encourages the Government Savings Bank to develop proactive projects addressing economic and social issues, ensuring sustainable quality of life improvements for all Thais.
