Mourners Gather at Chulalongkorn Hospital to Pay Respects to Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother


Bangkok: People expressed their condolences for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, in front of Chulalongkorn Hospital, expressing their deepest gratitude for Her Majesty’s graciousness. People gathered in front of Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, to express their condolences after learning of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, on October 24 at 9:21 p.m.



According to Thai News Agency, the atmosphere was filled with sadness. Many people held portraits of His Majesty and wept as they offered their condolences with unwavering loyalty and gratitude. People came from various provinces. For example, 65-year-old Thanyaporn Arammekha, who currently resides in Bangkok but was born in Chonburi, recounted that she had the opportunity to meet His Majesty the King several times in her life. However, the most memorable occasion was when he was 12 and 15 years old when he visited Chonburi to present the Scout flag. At that time, she was still a young child, so she had the opportunity to meet him up close. She still has a memorable moment on her mobile phone, capturing the moment, of His Majesty speaking to her in a friendly manner. She still remembers that impression and is deeply moved by His Majesty’s unforgettable kindness. Since then, she has followed His Majesty whenever she has the chance to visit various provinces where he performs his numerous royal duties.



While Ms. Maneerat Laowalert, 67, a resident of Samut Sakhon, said that she could hardly believe it was true. Upon hearing the news in the early morning, she made up her mind to travel to Chulalongkorn Hospital, arriving at 4 a.m. with the intention of paying her respects with loyalty and gratitude for His Majesty’s kindness in traveling to various places throughout the country, no matter how difficult the terrain.



Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, has prepared a waiting area for people who come to pay their respects, divided into sections. People from various provinces across the country have come to express their loyalty.
