Phimai District: A mother reported her son to the police after he went on a destructive rampage, claiming drugs were planted on him. Authorities intervened to manage the situation involving the young man, who has a history of mental illness.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred in a neighborhood in Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The individual, identified as Mr. Saranyu or Man, 28, was observed standing shirtless and wearing shorts outside his home following the disturbance. The police, alongside Mr. Man's mother and local residents, attempted to calm him for an extended period.
In a bid to pacify him, officers approached Mr. Man with a small amount of money for snacks, which eventually eased his aggression. During the confrontation, Mr. Man insisted that drugs had been planted in his home by others, asserting that he had never engaged in such activities. The police managed to escort him onto the back of a pickup truck, transporting him to Phimai Hospital for medical attention.
Mr. Man's mother disclosed that her son, a diagnosed mental patient, had a history of drug use. Despite her efforts to seek medical treatment for him, he consistently refused to comply. She resorted to dissolving his medication in water, but he would discard it. She described his outbursts, which included swearing, smashing household items, and damaging cars, though he had never physically harmed anyone. She expressed her desire for authorities to facilitate his treatment, fearing potential escalation of his actions.
