Morlam Rescue Hero Shares Story of Lifesaving CPR Intervention

Chaiyaphum: The hero of the Morlam rescue team, known as 'Nung Phalanchai', recently recounted a life-saving event where he performed CPR on a 32-year-old man who was attacked in front of a stage. The incident was captured and shared on the "Khampun Ruammit Fanpage" on Facebook, revealing the attempts by villagers and a Morlam actor to save the man's life after he was assaulted by a group of teenagers. Despite their efforts, the man later passed away. The event took place on February 22nd during a merit-making festival at Wat Pathummawat in Ban Khao Subdistrict, Ban Khao District, Chaiyaphum Province.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nirutti Maliphan, also known as "Nung Phalanchai", is the lead singer of the Kham Phun Ruam Mit group and was present in the clip. He provided a video call interview detailing the incident. At approximately 3:00 a.m., a fan alerted him about a person who had fainted near the stage. Mr. Maliphan immediately left his dressing room and retrieved first aid supplies from his vehicle. Upon reaching the victim, he performed CPR with assistance from knowledgeable staff and fans. Despite efforts lasting more than 20 minutes, the man was eventually transported to a hospital in a police car. Mr. Maliphan continued with his performance, only to learn later that morning of the man's passing, leaving him deeply saddened.

Mr. Maliphan emphasized the importance of quick action during emergencies, drawing from his experience as a volunteer rescuer with Hook 31 in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. He urged fans to maintain a peaceful environment at Morlam events, prioritizing safety and enjoyment over conflict.

Mr. Witoon Phan Kham, the band leader, also commented on the incident, which occurred approximately 50 meters from the stage. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and encouraged individuals to consider the long-term consequences of their actions, highlighting that minor disputes can lead to significant losses. The band, known as the 'Rescue Mor Lam', frequently receives requests for assistance during such emergencies.

The 'Kham Phun Ruam Mit' Morlam troupe, with a rich history of over 68 years in Khon Kaen Province, is renowned for its unique Isan language performances and Khon Kaen melodies. The troupe has more than 200 staff members and performs year-round, maintaining its status as a leading source of entertainment.
