Bangkok: "Monporn" has expressed confidence that the votes will align in the same direction as the upcoming censure debate approaches. Ms. Manoporn Charoensri, Deputy Minister of Transport, as a government representative attending the three whips meeting, discussed the opposition's preparation to submit a motion of no confidence. She noted that a discussion took place between the opposition and government whips. Although the number of ministers targeted by the opposition remains unknown, a preliminary schedule has been set for the debate to occur from March 24 to 28.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Manoporn mentioned that while the opposition has requested a five-day debate period, historically, the Pheu Thai Party, when in opposition, never sought such an extended duration. She emphasized that the details, including the number of individuals to be debated, must be examined thoroughly. Ms. Manoporn assured that all ministers are prepared to respond to the opposition's inquiries, and ongoing consultations within the government party have been taking place.
Addressing the issues under preparation, Ms. Manoporn stated that the resolution must first be reviewed to identify the pertinent issues and ministries involved. She underscored that coalition parties have reached a consensus on what benefits the populace, and the coalition's unity remains robust ahead of the vote.
