Bangkok: 'PDRC-Dharma Army' stormed the parliament, demanding the cancellation of the draft casino bill-amnesty, believing that it only benefits a certain group of people, criticizing the secret insertion of amnesty for 'Yingluck-Thaksin', which will definitely be met with the utmost resistance.
According to Thai News Agency, the Student and People Network for Reform of Thailand (SNRT) and the Dharma Army, led by Mr. Phichit Chaiyamongkol, the SNRT leader, marched from Chamai Maruchet Bridge to the Parliament building to submit a letter of objection to the draft bill on the operation of entertainment complexes and the draft bill on amnesty.
Mr. Pichit revealed that today there are many matters of concern, both the draft of the Integrated Entertainment Venue Act and the draft of the Amnesty Act, even though yesterday (8 July 68) the Cabinet withdrew the Entertainment Complex Act, which he sees as a good thing, but there is still concern because previously Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, the former Prime Minister, announced that he would move forward with this matter. We must keep an eye on whether in the future he will withdraw completely or not.
Mr. Pichit continued that today's amnesty bill was the first submission, with 3-4 bills being submitted. He agreed with the amnesty for political protesters of all colors. He and the protesters also benefited from the amnesty bill. However, what caused great concern among the public was the attempt to include non-political offenses in this amnesty, especially Section 112 and corruption, including criminal offenses that affect lives. If amnesty was inserted into Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra and Mr. Thaksin, the protesters would resist it to the end.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere in front of the parliament (MP side) has police officers providing assistance, both in terms of traffic management and safety for the public. However, after the parliament voted to withdraw the draft bill on integrated entertainment venues, the protesters have gradually returned.
