Bangkok: The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is set to convene the 4th Thailand Climate Change Action Partnership Meeting on September 29-30, aiming to collaborate across all sectors to accelerate the implementation of climate change adaptation policies. Dr. Pirun Saiyasitphanich, Director-General of the Department of Climate Change and Environment, underscored the importance of this gathering in a press conference announcing the Thailand Climate Action Conference (TCAC 2025) under the theme "Inspiring Climate Solutions for All."
According to Thai News Agency, the event will take place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center and is designed to foster cooperation among various sectors to achieve participation goals in addressing climate change. The meeting will provide a platform for network partners to showcase achievements, share best practices, and exchange knowledge, which could be developed into presentations on international forums to bolster Thailand's climate change initiatives.
Key activities planned for the event include vision presentations from international leaders, civil society, the private sector, and youth. Exhibitions will highlight Thailand's climate change actions under the "7 Cs" concept. Additionally, policy-level seminars and lectures will cover topics such as the new Climate Change Act, the COP30 conference, business promotion for climate resilience, technological transitions to sustainable societies, climate finance, urban climate risk management, disaster adaptation strategies, and preparing for a low-carbon society. A special forum will be dedicated to youth showcasing their contributions to solving global warming issues.
Dr. Pirun emphasized that under the leadership of Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Climate Change and Environment has laid out operational guidelines addressing climate challenges. These include developing policies and strategies, supporting green research and innovation, increasing public awareness and participation, and enhancing community and ecosystem adaptive capacities. The overarching aim is for Thailand to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065, commitments that have been conveyed to the international community.
