Meteorology Warns of Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms in Thailand

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding heavy rain expected in certain regions of Thailand, particularly affecting the upper North, upper Northeast, Central, and Eastern areas. Residents in these regions are advised to exercise caution due to the potential dangers associated with heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, the southern parts of the country are anticipated to experience thunderstorms. In Bangkok and its surrounding areas, there is a 70% likelihood of thunderstorms.

According to Thai News Agency, the weather forecast for the next 24 hours highlights the risk of heavy and accumulated rain in the aforementioned regions. This weather pattern is attributed to the moderate southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, in conjunction with a low-pressure cell located over the upper part of Vietnam.

The Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are expected to experience moderate wave activity. The upper Andaman Sea will see waves reaching approximately 2 meters in height, while the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand will have waves between 1 to 2 meters. In areas experiencing thunderstorms, wave heights may exceed 2 meters. The Meteorological Department advises sailors in these regions to proceed with caution and to refrain from navigating through areas experiencing thunderstorms.

In Bangkok and its vicinity, thunderstorms are predicted to occur in 70% of the area. The minimum temperature is expected to range between 24-25 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is forecasted to be between 32-35 degrees Celsius.
