Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has reported that the northern and northeastern regions of Thailand are experiencing cool to cold weather with morning fog, while the eastern region is expected to face thunderstorms in some areas.
According to Thai News Agency, a high-pressure area or a slightly cold air mass is affecting the upper northeastern region, coupled with upper-level westerly winds impacting the northern region. These atmospheric conditions are contributing to the cool to cold weather in the northern and northeastern parts of the country. Meanwhile, southern and southeastern winds are influencing the central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, as well as the eastern region, resulting in hot weather with haze during the day and some thunderstorms in the eastern areas. On the mountaintops, the weather is cold to very cold. Residents across Thailand are advised to be vigilant about their health due to these fluctuating weather conditions and to remain cautious of fire hazards due to dry weather. Travelers should exercise caution when moving through foggy areas.
The northeast monsoon currently blowing across the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea is weak. The Gulf of Thailand is experiencing waves approximately 1 meter high, with higher waves in areas with thunderstorms. Sailors in the lower Gulf of Thailand are advised to navigate carefully and avoid regions experiencing thunderstorms.
Dust and smog accumulation in the upper part of Thailand is moderate to quite high due to weak wind conditions in the area.
