“Maris” Joins ASEAN-China Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

Kuala lumpur: "Maris" joins ASEAN-China foreign ministers meeting as Thailand pushes for cooperation to solve important problems, transnational crimes-online scammers. Mr. Marist Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the ASEAN-China Foreign Ministers' Meeting during the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and Related Meetings in Kuala Lumpur.

According to Thai News Agency, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the meeting with ASEAN foreign ministers. As the host country, Malaysia hoped that China-ASEAN cooperation would be further strengthened and was committed to working with all ASEAN member states together with China to push this partnership to a new level that would bring real benefits to the people of the region.

The meeting also discussed ways to promote ASEAN-China cooperation under the comprehensive strategic partnership and exchanged views on regional and international issues. Thailand pushed forward important cooperation issues, including dealing with cross-border threats, especially transnational crime and online fraud, regional economic integration, digital economy and green economy, and strengthening people-to-people relations. It also emphasized China's important role in maintaining good relations between major powers.
