Man Mauled to Death by Five Dogs Sparks Community Outcry

Surin: A 60-year-old man was mauled to death by five dogs on the side of the road in Ban Trat Rabok, Mueang District, Surin. His son revealed that last year, his father was also mauled by dogs from this family but did not press charges, until this time, the dogs mauled his father to death.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident has drawn significant attention, prompting reporters to visit Wat Mai Sri Mak Thong, where the funeral rites for Mr. Mathaya were held. The atmosphere was filled with sadness as the deceased's son recounted how last year, his father was bitten on the leg by dogs from the same household but chose not to pursue legal action. This time, the attack proved fatal, prompting the son to call for more responsible dog ownership to prevent future tragedies.

In response to the incident, various local authorities including provincial administration officials, district administration officials, sub-district administrative organizations, village headmen, village health volunteers, provincial public health officials, and provincial livestock officials convened to discuss measures to address and prevent such incidents in the future.
