Luang Ta Sinthap Provides 200 Pork Barbecue Meals to Boost Morale of Border Soldiers

Bangkok: Luang Ta Sinthap has taken a heartwarming step to support soldiers stationed at the Thai-Cambodian border by providing 200 sets of grilled pork barbecue meals to boost their morale. Maj. Gen. Nat Sri-in, the Deputy Commander of the 2nd Army Area, visited the Chong Bok area to closely inspect and offer encouragement to the troops on duty.

According to Thai News Agency, Maj. Gen. Nat hosted the barbecue event, sponsored by Luang Ta Sinthap, who is the president of the monks' residence at Wat Pa Bon Nam Phra In in Ubon Ratchathani Province. This initiative was aimed at encouraging the soldiers and providing them with a sense of care and support from the rear guard. The gesture was also intended to support the soldiers, many of whom have remained at their posts despite a ceasefire, unable to visit their families.

The soldiers expressed their gratitude, stating that the gesture significantly boosted their spirits and reassured their families about their well-being. They emphasized the importance of staying occupied to avoid stress and maintaining communication for mutual encouragement. The soldiers also conveyed their appreciation to Luang Ta Sinthap for the barbecue treat and expressed a desire for such morale-boosting events to occur more frequently.

Maj. Gen. Nat discussed the ongoing situation at the border, noting that although tensions seem to be easing after discussions with Cambodia, he remains cautious, citing past experiences where agreements were not upheld. He stressed the importance of unity and cooperation, regardless of political changes, to avoid causing divisions. Maj. Gen. Nat highlighted the need for careful assessment of the situation, with a preference for peaceful resolutions but readiness for armed retaliation if necessary, aiming for outcomes without injury or loss of life.
