Lt. Gen. Worayot Monitors Mine Clearance Progress in Sa Kaeo Province


Sa kaeo: Lt. Gen. Worayot Leungsuwan, Commander of the 1st Army Region and Commander of the 1st Army Area Command Center, visited the Thai-Cambodian border in Sa Kaeo Province to oversee the progress of mine clearance operations. The visit aimed to ensure the area is safe before being handed over to the public. The inspection also included coordination with the National Police Chief and a review of tactical readiness.



According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Gen. Worayot’s visit included the Thai-Cambodian border, specifically focusing on the bomb disposal mission in Nong Ya Kaeo Village. The Commander of the 2nd Battalion, 12th Task Force, Burapha Task Force, reported on the operational progress and recent mine detections over the past three days, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters and the National Mine Action Center (NMC). The 1st Army Region Commander emphasized the importance of safety and instructed teams to operate with caution, ensuring the land is safe for public use.



The inspection extended to cavalry and artillery units to assess tactical readiness. Lt. Gen. Worayot presented gifts and addressed personnel concerns, seeking to alleviate them and enhance the performance of military duties. The visit also included discussions with Police General Kittirat Phanphet, the National Police Chief, to inspect operations and strengthen coordination between military and police units.



The operations focus on integrating efforts with various government agencies to ensure public safety and national sovereignty. Lt. Gen. Worayot acknowledged the support from various sectors, expressing gratitude for the public trust and encouragement that bolsters the resolve of soldiers to protect Thailand.
